Math 30 Program: CURRENTLY DEVELOPING
In Alberta, Math 30-1 and Math 30-2 are two different pathways within the Grade 12 math curriculum, with 30-1 being more focused on calculus and pre-calculus concepts and 30-2 covering a broader range of mathematical topics, including some calculus but with a stronger emphasis on practical applications and reasoning.
Math 30-1
Functions & Transformations
Explore operations, compositions, and inverses of functions, plus graph transformations including stretches, reflections, and combinations.
Exponential & Logarithmic Functions
Dive into exponential growth and decay, logarithms, laws of logs, and graphing techniques.
Permutations & Combinations
Master counting principles, factorials, restrictions, Pascal’s triangle, and the binomial theorem.
Radical & Rational Functions
Learn to graph and analyze radical and rational functions, including asymptotes and discontinuities.
Trigonometry
Review radians, the unit circle, identities, graphing sinusoidal functions, and solving trig equations.
Diploma Review
